Rev Ed Swehla was born and raised in the Catskill mountains of New York State. Heading South as soon as possible he lived and worked in Virginia for a couple years before entering the military. A retired Army officer, his last assignment was with E Troop, 48th Brigade here in Griffin. Ed earned a Bachelors Degree in Bible and Theology at Toccoa Falls College, and his Master of Divinity at Candler School of Theology, Emory University.
He was appointed to his first church in 1986, and was ordained an Elder in 1995. His hobbies include: restoring vintage vehicles, motorcycles, hunting, gardening, and playing bass guitar. Ed and his wife Dawn have three children: Douglas is married and lives in California, Laura and her husband live in Chatsworth, and Michael is a Senior at Nathaniel Greene Academy in Siloam, GA.
